David Cox created the world's smallest snowman at the National Physical
Laboratory in West London. Even at his fattest this tiny snowman is
less than the width of a human hair. David created the structure from
two tin beads, which he usually employs to calibrate his electron microscope
lenses. He used platinum to weld the tiny blobs to form the snowman.
He then focused an ion beam to carve the eyes and smile. Lastly he
used another blob of platinum for the nose.
The truism of his sign 'I'll be dead soon' brings a smile to my lips. But it also makes me sad.

There is something particularly charming, amusing, about the way that the photographer has framed this snowmen picture
right.
Lots of images rattle around in my mind. The pictures also make
me want to go out and build a snowman or two and create a similar effect myself.
What a lovely, lingering idea.
For Guy, the snowman funeral was a slow burning joke. At first I did not see the significance of the bucket. Once I realized that it contained the watery remains of their fellow snowman then the

Who says "Frosty the Snowman" has to be jolly? A man in a "Frosty
the Snowman" costume was arrested during the annual Christmas parade in
Chestertown, on Maryland's Eastern Shore, USA.
He's accused of scuffling with police and kicking at a police dog.
Sergeant John A. Dolgos recalls to Will and Guy that 52-year-old Kevin
Michael Walsh became agitated when a dog-handling officer tried to escort
him away from the crowd. Walsh told them that he has dressed as Frosty in
the parade for at least 10 years. He says he was wrongfully arrested. He
says an officer hassled him after he remarked about the police dog's
presence. He says he became agitated only after getting arrested.

In 1950 Gene Autry and the Cass Country Boys recorded 'Frosty the
Snowman'. Other artists have made cover versions including Ella
Fitzgerald and The Jackson 5.
Some versions have an extra verse.
Frosty the snowman knew The sun was hot that day, So he said,
'Let's run and We'll have some fun Now before I melt away.' Down to
the village, With a broomstick in his hand, Running here and there all
Around the square saying, Catch me if you can.
He led them down the streets of town Right to the traffic cop. And
he only paused a moment when He heard him holler 'Stop!' For Frosty
the snow man Had to hurry on his way, But he waved goodbye saying,
'Don't you cry, I'll be back again some day.'
